Here is my Wordle for Chapter 4, which was about Wikis in our every day lives as teachers:
I didn't know that the word "wiki" came from the hawaiian word wiki-wiki meaning "quick." I found that really interesting. The first wiki was only invented in 1995, which is a year I remember pretty well. It's amazing to think that something I would use almost every day (usually more than once a day) was invented only a few years ago. Wikipedia is surely a sign of the times, as this decade is all about collaboration and "mashups." Work is no longer seen as something you do alone, especially considering that the most important source for all work is the internet, which is only a network of people-made facts and pages.
"Every day, thousands of people who have no connection to one another engage in the purposeful work on negotiating and creating truth." (Pg. 57)
